Skills Common Across Evidence-based Interventions

Skills Common Across Evidence-based Interventions

From 1987 until today, there have been more than 400 evidence-based preventive interventions which blue ribbon panels have certified and validated as efficacious.  The current norms require that local implementers, be it in health care, education, child welfare, or mental health treatment settings, replicate the manuals of these evidence-based interventions with fidelity. Chorpita, Daleiden, and colleagues (2009) have repeatedly reviewed the manuals of these evidence-based interventions and found that there are common core skills that cross 80% of these interventions.  Below is a training guide for paraprofessionals to encourage alternative strategies for training and encouraging paraprofessional staff in a variety of roles to implement evidence-based practices.
